Amendments to the Russian Constitution entered into force

Since July 4, according to the decree of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin amendments to the Constitution enter into force. Its updated version is published on the website of legal information.

Vladimir Putin has outlined the following following acceptance the task. It is the qualitative development of the entire legislative framework. The head of state said at an online meeting with members of the working group that drafted the amendments to the Constitution.

At the meeting, Putin noted that the decision on the amendment of the basic law was adopted throughout the country, and relates to the values and underlying principles that are the basis for further development of Russia.

a Popular vote on constitutional amendments was originally scheduled for April 22, 2020. However, due to the pandemic coronavirus COVID-19 it was moved. Citizens of Russia voted from 25 June to 1 July. Just voted 67,97% of the voters. 77.92 percent (about 58 million) supported the amendments to the Constitution. Voted against 21.27 percent, or 16 million.
