The boss of the luxury car brand Bentley, Adrian Hallmark, sees room for further growth for his company. “For our exclusivity, it makes no difference whether we sell 15,000 or 20,000 cars,” he told WELT AM SONNTAG.

The market segment has increased tenfold since 2006. Hallmark is targeting approximately 15,000 vehicles for the current year, up from 14,659 vehicles sold last year. Bentley currently has an order backlog of 9,500 vehicles, and takes 9 to 15 months from order to delivery.

By the end of the decade, the British car icon, which is more than 100 years old, is to become a purely electric brand. “We plan to end engine production by 2030 at the latest,” Hallmark said. “The last combustion engine we will sell will probably be a GT model. This is the sportiest vehicle, people will want to buy a classic engine for the longest time with this type.”
