Clashes near the Russian Embassy in Beirut subsided. The police and army took control of the area where the protests took place.

Last night, the protesters organized a picket in front of the police station. Opposite to it is the Russian Embassy. The demonstrators demanded the release of their colleagues. Police dispersed the rally using tear gas. It is reported that Russian diplomats during the clashes of protesters with the police was not injured, reports channel “Russia 24”.

According to the Lebanese red cross, during clashes with police in Beirut, injuring at least 35 demonstrators. The police injured more than 15 employees.

Protests linked to the deteriorating economic situation in the country. In October 2019, the President of Lebanon informed the public that the state is suffering from a financial embargo and sanctions.
