COBOL and Kuleba commented on the situation with Russian gas supplies

Ukraine is not yet ready for a return to direct supply of gas from Russia. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Dmitry Kuleba.

According to him, the main goal is to integrate Ukraine’s energy sector in the European: to the gas market of Ukraine functioned solely on the basis of the norms of the European Union and the Third energy package.

He said that those who want, will buy gas from “Gazprom”. However, the Russian company will play in Ukraine “solely by European rules and standards” and will no longer have the monopoly.

“Perhaps, theoretically, Naftogaz will have to buy directly from Gazprom at some stage, but only within the framework of market mechanisms, without corruption, blackmail and without the “gas needle” — said Kuleba the Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.

In turn, the head of “Naftogaz” Andrew KOBOLEV said that the company is “not happy” from inclusion in the agreements with Gazprom on the transit of Russian gas. According to him, Gazprom was not prepared to take risks “inefficient Ukrainian legislation”. Because of this, the risks I had to take the “Naftogaz”, which acted as the buffer between a Russian company and Ukraine.

“For us, these risks are familiar. We are not happy with this option, but it is an element of compromise,” — said the head of “Naftogaz”.

the Package of agreements on gas transit was signed in the evening of 30 December, reminds RIA Novosti. The contract was signed for five years. In the first year, I plan to pump 65 billion cubic meters of gas in the next four years — 40 billion.
