Manchester United have parted ways with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo with immediate effect. This was announced by the English Premier League club on Tuesday evening. Ronaldo had previously criticized the coach and the owners of the club in an interview.

Recently it became known that Manchester United even considered filing a lawsuit against Ronaldo after the interview was published. Accordingly, Ronaldo’s contract should be terminated “as soon as possible” and the Portuguese should never play for the “Red Devils” again, as “ESPN” had reported.

In a 90-minute interview, Ronaldo settled accounts with former United manager Ralf Rangnick and the club. Ronaldo felt “betrayed” by the way he was treated by Manchester United. He was angry because he had been made the ‘black sheep’ and blamed for everything that went wrong at the club.

United drew the consequences of the interview and fired him. The 37-year-old also only played a supporting role in sport. Ronaldo was only a substitute.
