Died on the Italian composer Ennio Morricone. He was 91.
according to Italian media, he died overnight in a hospital in Rome, where he was taken several days ago with a hip fracture.
Ennio Morricone born 10 November 1928 in Rome. His father was a jazz trumpeter, his mother a housewife. Ennio was the eldest of five children. The music he began to deal in childhood. In 12 years entered the Conservatory of St. Cecilia in Rome and graduated in three specialties — trumpet, orchestration and composition.
Morricone began writing music for films when he was 33, and became the authors of the soundtracks of more than 400 films and television series Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, USA. He worked with top film Directors — Bernardo Bertolucci, pier Paolo Bertolucci, Dario Argento, Roman Polanski, Oliver stone, Brian De Palma, John carpenter and many others.
Composer six times nominated for “Oscar”. Won the award twice: in 2007 for outstanding contribution in cinema and in 2016 for the music to the movie “Disgusting eight”.
Also Morricone nine times received the national Italian film award “David di Donatello” for best film music. The composer was a three-time winner of the award “Golden globe” and 6-time BAFTA award winner. In 1988, for the music for the film “the untouchables” was awarded the prize “Grammy”.
