Borussia Dortmund can fall back on Nico Schlotterbeck in the game against VfL Wolfsburg. After surviving muscle problems, the national defender is part of BVB’s squad for this Sunday’s game, but will initially be on the bench.
The recently injured left-back Raphael Guerreiro also starts as a reserve player. For the fifth time in a row, coach Edin Terzic will not have BVB captain Marco Reus in the starting XI. The runners-up are now four points behind in the title fight after the victory of leaders FC Bayern on Saturday in Bremen (2-1).
In comparison to the impressive 3-0 win over FSV Mainz 05 last Sunday, Dutchman Micky van de Ven is returning to the team after his yellow card suspension. He replaces defender Maxence Lacroix, who is out until the end of the season with a shoulder injury.
