The Russian people should not go without their favorite soft drinks…

Because of the bloody attack on Ukraine, Russia has been subjected to all kinds of sanctions – big brands, giant corporations, world market leaders are gone! Therefore, the country of Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin (69) now has to think about alternatives to popular brands.

And in this respect, the Russians show only moderate ingenuity.

In Russia, now there is Fancy instead of Fanta, Uncle Vanya instead of McDonald’s and instead of Renaults, Soviet-era cars are now being produced again.

After Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Pepsi said goodbye to the Russian market, the local manufacturer Ochakovo began to produce products in the design of cult brands.

This means: CoolCola instead of Coca-Cola in red, Fancy instead of Fanta in familiar orange, and Street instead of Sprite in typical green.

► Even the design has changed: instead of a curved inscription, like Coca-Cola, a block inscription is now used. The colors remain.

The Ochakovo producer is not alone in trying to use the departure of Coca-Cola to his advantage.

► In April, Slavda Group, a drinks manufacturer in Eastern Russia, launched Grink Cola. Syktyvkarpivo followed in May in the Komi region of northern Russia with its own soft drink brand, Komi Cola.

Problem: They probably taste like the names of Grinka and Komi – so-so. Customers complained that none of the soft drinks were as “sweet and bubbly” as promised and known from the original Coke.

While Coca-Cola has completely withdrawn from Russia, Pepsi may return and produce special drinks ONLY for the Russian market, according to the Russian news site Kommersant.

For: Raw materials “for several months” are still in warehouses at Russian production sites. Names of new drinks? New Cola (Pepsi) and Fruitz (Mirinda and 7UP)

The biggest outrage in Russia was the departure of McDonald’s. In mid-March, the fast food giant closed its stores in Moscow and other regions of the country. People rushed to the branches to eat their last Big Mac before zfxz^ncy “Big Way”.

► As the American fast food giant was slowly closing its doors, a patent attorney quickly applied for a trademark for a logo that would stand for a company operating “snack shops, coffee shops, cafeterias, restaurants, self-service restaurants.”

Title: “Uncle Vanya” Logo: McDonald’s logo tilted to one side.

In Russia, they do not hide the fact that well-known trademarks are imitated. Copyright infringement is and is not.

I: This is not the end!

After imposing sanctions, Moscow also cleared the way for fully legal film piracy. Ibo: Major Hollywood studios, as well as Netflix, completely curtailed their activities in Russia; people can no longer watch their favorite movies in any other way than through pirated copies.

Soft drinks, McDonald’s and movies are not the only areas where Moscow needs to reconsider its views, and this includes cars.

After French automaker Renault sold its shares in Russian automaker Avtovaz, a production plant in Moscow will soon be making Soviet-era Moskvich cars again.

Denis Pak, an official with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, told Russian state television that this “agreement” with Renault would allow the production of the Renault Duster, now called Lada, to continue.
