147,489 corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.

Compared to the previous week, there was an increase of four percent.

The daily reading is the highest since April 22.

Measured against the reported number of cases, the force of the BA.5 wave continues to decrease somewhat.

This can be seen, for example, in the course of the 7-day average of newly reported cases, in the comparison of the 7-day average with the previous week (which falls back into the single-digit percentage range) and in the doubling time of active cases (from 20 to 23 days today). increases).

The 7-day incidence increases from 651 to 688.

Today it is rising in 14 of the 16 federal states.

The two exceptions are Hamburg and Rhineland-Palatinate.

In NRW, the incidence has risen more significantly than the national average since the beginning of June.

Especially in the days before the early certificate issue in the Rhine and Ruhr on Friday, June 25 (see pink oval), the incidence had risen again significantly.

The upward trend in NRW came to an end when the certificate was issued and was replaced by a sideways trend.

Today, NRW is the only area state where the incidence is below the level of the previous week.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein, which have meanwhile followed NRW into the holidays, there is still no discernible holiday effect.

102 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday.

That’s eleven fewer than a week ago.
