Gazprom and Ukraine signed a settlement agreement

Gazprom and Ukraine signed a settlement agreement in antitrust proceedings. This opens the way for long-term contracts for gas transportation sought by the Ukrainian side, said Deputy Minister of justice of Ukraine Ivan Hazel.

on his Facebook he posted a photo of the document with the signatures of the representative of “Gazprom” Elena Burmistrova and Minister of justice of Ukraine Denis Maluski.

the details of the deal Hazel did not disclose, citing confidentiality, but noted that “Russia withdraws their demands, and the Ukrainian side “did not violate his own rule not to enter into settlement agreements in investment arbitration, according to which Ukraine would have to pay the investor any compensation”.

the Deputy Minister added that “the signing of the agreement opens the way for concluding long-term agreements for transportation of gas between “Naftogaz” and “Gazprom” sought by Ukraine.”

Earlier it was reported that on 28 December, the government of Ukraine approved the signing of the agreement with the Russian company.
