In the province of Ontario in Eastern Canada more than 55 thousand customers remained without power as a result of massive damage to power lines, which were caused by gusty winds and icy rain. These data are reported by local power company Hydro One.
As noted, the emergency crews had managed to restore power to more than 39 thousand houses and buildings. Currently without electricity are about 16 thousand customers. For Troubleshooting sent additional emergency crews, reports TASS.
the National weather Bureau reports that in Ontario, the wind speed in some places reaches up to 22 meters per second. The result was felled hundreds of advertising structures and trees – and that is what caused wire breaks.
