In the Belarusian Belgazprombank has introduced a temporary administration

the national Bank of Belarus has introduced a temporary administration in JSC “Belgazprombank”, which last 20 years was headed by former Vice-President of the country Victor Babariko.

This is done to protect the interests of depositors and creditors, “BGB”, explained in the statement of the Belarusian regulator.

Shareholders of Belgazprombank said that national Bank, succeeding the leadership of the “Belgazprombank”, violates international law. “Belgazprombank” operates in Belarus since 1990. Russian “Gazprom” and “Gazprombank” owns 49.8% of the shares of the Bank, the state property Committee of Belarus — 0,097% of the shares.

Previously, the state control Committee (SCC) of Belarus declared collected evidence of the involvement of Babariko for illegal activities, including the withdrawal of funds abroad. It was reported about the detention of top managers of the Bank and other companies, searches, seizure of more than $4 million. Babariko said about the political pressure: the aim of this case — not to allow him to presidential election.
