FC Barcelona was eliminated in the Europa League despite a goal by top scorer Robert Lewandowski. A week after the 2: 2 in the first leg, the leaders of the Spanish soccer championship lost the second leg of the intermediate round at Manchester United 1: 2 (1: 0) on Thursday evening and thus also missed the round of 16 after the preliminary round in the Champions League the Europa League.
Former Bayern striker Lewandowski gave Barcelona the lead in the 18th minute with a penalty kick. Brazilians Fred (47′) and Antony (73′) turned the game around with their goals in favor of the English Premier League club.
