Movement in space: who will deliver Russian cosmonauts on the moon?

Russia has started building the first in the history of Russian landing astronauts on the moon. Will take them to the moon new space ship “eagle” — going to the production and testing of its individual hull elements, devices and nodes. Recently, for example, has tested a new cable-release device.

According to the plan, the first unmanned flight should take place in 2023. Of course, the pace of work trying to speed up. However, before a manned flight vehicle must pass a full test. People can not take that risk.

“Just a flight from Earth to the moon and back is a lot of complex operations. All of them are dangerous, all of them risky, and the main engineering challenge is to provide the necessary reliability. One hundred percent, of course, impossible to provide, but something that is close at 99%. It is very difficult, it is very expensive and is a long time”, — said Ivan Moiseev, head of the space policy Institute.

For landing on the lunar surface will be used a bunch of ship “eagle” lunar landing module in orbit an artificial satellite of the moon. Now carrying out research on the development of such a module, and the mission as a whole.

“eagle” is a return device. A pre determined number of regions in the landing craft South of the 51st parallel on the territory of Russia. It is known that these areas must be in a deserted, treeless and flat terrain, without large rivers, ponds, impassable bogs and dangerous structures.

“the Moon is a key point in the future movement in space. And anyway, sooner or later, it will be like talking figuratively, subdued. In this case, you need a moon base, that is the place of permanent human presence on the moon. About the same as it is now in the orbit of the ISS,” — said Ivan Moiseev.

Today the stages of the lunar program: for 2023 is scheduled first test launch of the “eagle” on the missile-wearthe body of the Angara A5 from Vostochny. 2025 — manned flight to the ISS. In 2029 flyby is planned on the ship of the moon, and in 2030-m — the landing of the Russian cosmonauts on its surface.
