Negotiations of Russia and Ukraine on gas transit are already the third day

the Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on gas transit, which began in Vienna on Thursday, December 26, continuing for the third day. On the eve of the negotiations lasted till night, told reporters the representative of the Russian “Gazprom”.

the Aim of the talks was implementation of a joint Protocol signed in Minsk on 20 December. It is expected that to continue gas transit to Europe through Ukrainian gas transportation network, Gazprom will conclude with the “Operator of the Ukrainian GTS” inter-operator agreement, and with the Ukrainian “Naftogaz” — a contract in which the book capacity to transport 65 billion cubic meters of gas in 2020 and 40 billion cubic meters in the years 2021-2024.

the Protocol also included agreement on the resolution of legal disputes, recalls RIA Novosti. According to them, Gazprom had already paid Naftogaz $ 2.9 billion in the decisions of the Stockholm arbitration. The parties agreed to abandon claims on which no final verdict, and to sign a settlement agreement between Gazprom and the government of Ukraine about removal of antitrust claims for $ 7.4 billion.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said earlier that the signing of a five-year contract for Russian gas transit via Ukraine is expected before the New year. According to Kozak, the key parameters of the document have already been agreed. Estimated volumes of transit, said Deputy Prime Minister, sufficient to meet the needs of European destinations.

the Ukrainian side now assumes all risks tariff. Do not disclose the main intrigue — transit fees. It needs to be aligned with the EU regulations.
