Permanent representative to the UN nebesa explained how Crimea would remain Ukrainian

At the meeting of the UN Security Council with the participation of the civil society, which was held in format of video conference, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia said that Ukraine in 2014 has paved the way for the reunification of the Crimea with Russia.

the permanent representatives of Germany, France and the Czech Republic and also took part in the meeting, the representative of the European Union stated that it did not recognize the reunification of Crimea with Russia, considering it a violation of international law, TASS reports.

nebesa said that the guarantors of the agreement reached between former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition was Germany, France and Poland. “However, these guarantees have been violated on the following day the opposition seized power in Kiev and forced Yanukovych to flee,” said the permanent representative of the Russian Federation.

the Diplomat stressed that the events in Kiev, became a starting point for the loss of the Crimea.

the meeting was attended by representatives of the civil society of Crimea, including the Deputy mufti of the Peninsula of Asadullah Bairov and the head of “Ukrainian community of Crimea” Anastasia Gridino. They stressed that the will of the inhabitants of the Peninsula does not contradict the Constitution of Ukraine, and the decision on accession to Russia was voluntary.

According to them, the situation with human rights has significantly improved in 2014.
