Putin and Lukashenko will take part in the opening of the Rzhev memorial

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on June 30 will participate in the opening of Rzhev of the memorial to Soviet soldiers. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

Earlier, Lukashenko has already announced a meeting with Putin. According to him, he not only plans to attend the opening of memorial complex of Rzhev, but also to discuss with the Russian colleague the issues of their further cooperation. This information was confirmed by Dmitry Peskov. He noted that the presidents will be able to communicate separately if Aleksandr Lukashenko will come to the ceremony.

the Initiators of the monument were veterans of the great Patriotic war. They appealed to the Committee of the Union state with the request to immortalize the memory of their comrades to the 75-th anniversary of Victory.

Best architectural solution was the project of sculptor Andrew Korobtsova and architect Konstantin Fomin. It is a 25-foot bronze figure was erected on a 10-meter artificial mound.
