Putin laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Russian President Vladimir Putin has valagil a wreath at the Eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander garden.

on June 22 in Russia marks Day of memory and grief. On this day 79 years ago the Soviet Union was attacked by Hitler’s troops, the Great Patriotic war.

Before the ceremony, the President personally greeted each veteran, shaking hands and a few words. Soldiers of guard of honor mounted wreath with ribbon in Russian flag colors with a gold inscription “to the Unknown Soldier from the President of the Russian Federation”. Putin knelt before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and spread on the wreath ribbon. The President bowed his head and with a moment of silence in memory of those killed in the war. Together with the head of state in a ceremony attended by veterans and students Suvorov schools.

Then the solemn March of military personnel representing the army, Air force and Navy. After the ceremony, Putin laid flowers at the alley of hero cities.

Earlier today, the Russian leader called for the Patriot Park in Kubinka. He attended a service at the Cathedral of the resurrection of Christ. The main temple of the Russian Armed forces was built for the 75th anniversary of the Victory. Putin stressed that the memory of the war is sacred for the citizens of Russia. “It gives us strength to serve our country,” — said the head of state.
