Losing Russia at a high level in the UN.

Not only IT engineers, soldiers and consultants are fleeing from the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. Now a high-ranking Russian diplomat in the United Nations has also left him – and with harsh statements against the Kremlin dictatorship!

Boris Bondarev, Russia’s chief adviser to the UN, wrote a statement on Wednesday explaining the reasons for his resignation after 20 years in Russia’s diplomatic service:

“Over the 20 years of my diplomatic career, I have seen different turns in our foreign policy, but never in my life have I been as ashamed of my country as on February 24 of this year. This aggressive war unleashed by Putin against Ukraine and against the entire West is not only a crime against the Ukrainian people, but also, perhaps, the most serious crime against the people of Russia.”

With the “bold Z”, the regime destroys “all hopes and prospects for a prosperous free society”.

The letter continues: “Those who invented this war wanted only one thing: to remain in power forever, to live in pompous and tasteless palaces, to sail on yachts comparable in carrying capacity and cost to the entire Russian fleet, and to enjoy unlimited power and impunity. For this they are ready to sacrifice as many lives as it takes. Thousands of Russians and Ukrainians have already died for this.”

The diplomat is sorry to admit that the level of lies and unprofessionalism over the past 20 years has become worse and worse. According to him, “in recent years it has been simply catastrophic” and Kremlin propaganda is now at the level of “Soviet newspapers of the 30s.”

Also in his letter of resignation, Boris Bondarev wrote the following: “Today, the Foreign Ministry is no longer engaged in diplomacy. It’s about hostility, lies and hatred.” Despite the fact that the ministry has become “home and family” for the diplomat, he can no longer “participate in this bloody, stupid and unnecessary disgrace.”

UN Watch platform spokesman Hillel Neuer, who posted Boris Bondarev’s statement on his Twitter, demanded that all Russian diplomats at the UN – and around the world – follow this moral example and resign.
