Director of the research Institute of emergency children’s surgery and traumatology Leonid Roshal has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports “Interfax”. Roshal said the head of state for the resonant case, which is investigated in Kaliningrad. Earlier it was reported that in 2018, after the death of the newborn acting head physician of the Kaliningrad hospital Helen White was charged with abuse of office. The boy was born prematurely and weighed 700 grams. According to investigators, White, anticipating death, had decided not to give a newborn an expensive drug and thereby effectively killed him. Therefore, later opened another criminal case under article about the murder of a minor. Now White and helped her specialist neonatologist Sushkevich are under house arrest awaiting trial.
“I have to comply with the request of the medical community,” said Roshal, speaking at the ceremony, President of the medal “Hero of labor of the Russian Federation”. He said, remembering the post-war “business of doctors” and that “this was not in Russia since 1953”.
Roshal expressed willingness to serve on the court in defence of colleagues.
