Russia’s Roscosmos plans to resume production of carrier rockets “Rokot”. As it became known to RIA Novosti news Agency from its own sources in the industry, the Ministry of defense and Space center Khrunichev signed the contract. The new RN will be called “Roar-M”.
the First information about the development of the upgraded booster appeared on the International military-technical forum “Army-2018”. Then Khrunichev Khrunichev announced that is working on “Roar-2”. It will be domestic control system instead of Ukrainian.
Lightweight carrier rocket “Rokot” capable of lifting about 2 tons. Only PH was launched more than 30 time, she orbited 70 vehicles. The first launch took place in 2000, the last in 2019.
“Rokot” created on the basis of Intercontinental ballistic missiles UR-100N. The maximum range of its flight is about 10 thousand kilometers, weight – 105 tons. In combat units are 6 nuclear warheads. The capacity of each varies from 550 to 750 kilotons of TNT.
