Samsung defended the SSD fingerprint scan

Samsung has introduced a compact solid state drive T7 Touch the body of which is embedded a fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint sensor introduced in addition to the password protection and hardware 256-bit AES encryption.

the Announcement took place in the framework of the exhibition Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, held in Las Vegas. Portable SSD is offered in several versions with a storage capacity of 500 gigabytes, 1 terabyte and 2 terabytes. Its maximum sequential read speed is 1050 MB/s, write – 1000 MB/s. It is almost twice higher than in the T5 last year. To reach the maximum speed read and write data, you will need the USB cable 3.2 Gen 2.

Also in T7 Touch features led Motion indicator LED, which allows to assess its condition at a glance. The device weighs 58 grams, Samsung said. The delivery set includes two cables: USB Type-C to Type-C and USB Type-C to Type-A. the Drive is compatible with Windows, macOS and Android.

T7 Touch will go on sale during January in over 30 countries. Version 500 GB will be offered for is $129.99, 1 TB – for $229,99 on the 2 TB for $399,99.
