In Brisbane ended the first round match between Russian Maria Sharapova and American Jennifer Brady. Russian tennis player in a persistent duel has conceded to her opponent in three sets– 6:3, 1:6, 6:7 (3:7). The meeting lasted 2 hours and 16 minutes.
Everything was decided on a tie-break, in which the stronger was the representative of the United States. In the next round, Brady will clash with Australian Ashleigh Barty.
Earlier, during the second round of the tournament in Brisbane were the Russian Lyudmila Samsonov, who beat American Sloane Stephens.
