Slavic literature marks the 1157 years

the Day of Slavic writing and culture is celebrated on may 24 in Russia. This year marks the Slavic literature 1157 years.

This day is dedicated to the memory day of saints equal to the apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius, enlighteners of the Slavs, who created the first Slavic alphabet. Cyrillic alphabet became the basis for writing in Russian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Macedonian and Montenegrin languages.
