The GPU has evolved into the Office of the attorney General

In Ukraine ceased to exist, the General Prosecutor’s office. The Agency has a new name — the Office of the attorney General. This innovation is part of a massive reorganization of the Supervisory authority.

It was needed because of the mass discontent of Ukrainians with the work of the Prosecutor General. According to sociological polls of the Razumkov Center, a distrust of the structure was expressed by 70 percent of respondents, RIA Novosti reported.

It also notes that there are working prosecutors who served the interests of oligarchs, political parties and other influential people in the Ukrainian society.
