In the UK want to close the newspaper The Guardian. The petition has already been signed by more than six thousand people.

the Reason for the slave past of the newspaper: it was founded in the XIX century with the money from cotton plantations on which slaves worked. Writer Tony Parsons saw the hypocrisy in what is now publishing articles in support of those who takes down monuments and even collects donations for the movement Black Lives Matter. He demanded to close down The Guardian and created a petition.

Also, the editorial recalled the story ago nearly 160 years ago during the Civil war in the United States the newspaper was opposed to Abraham Lincoln who wanted to abolish slavery.

The Guardian – the daily left-liberal newspaper in the UK, one of the most respected publications in the world. Was founded in Manchester in 1821 under the name The Manchester Guardian. a Wave of unrest has swept a number of countries after the US African-American George, Floyd was killed by a police officer. His death sparked protests against racism.

One of the requirements of the protesters — the demolition of monuments to historical figures who were somehow connected with colonization and the slave trade. In the US a victim of the protesters are the monuments to Columbus. After the destruction of the monuments in the South, the confederates began to clean the movies and TV shows, which saw the hint of romanticizing slavery. Among them was recognized masterpieces, including “Gone with the wind”. In the UK need to demolish the monuments of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Mahatma Gandhi. I have removed the monuments to Robert Milligan and Edward Colston.
