The number of corona cases in Germany reported to the RKI was 41,087 yesterday.

Compared to the previous week, there was an increase of three percent.

This is the fourth week-on-week increase in a row.

The 7-day corona incidence increases again, from 261 to 270.

It has risen every day so far this week.

Today it is higher than yesterday in 13 of the 16 federal states.

The three exceptions are Berlin, Schleswig-Holstein and Saarland.

The three federal states with the highest incidence are currently Schleswig-Holstein, Hesse and Lower Saxony – with incidences between 350 and 450.

Bremen, NRW and Hamburg are also around 300 again.

It is precisely some of these north-west German states in which the turnaround in incidence is currently particularly striking.

The incidence in Hamburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein has increased by more than 100 points, followed by NRW with an increase of 93.

The hotspots are also concentrated in the northwest: 12 of the 15 urban and rural districts with an incidence of more than 500 are in Hesse, Lower Saxony, NRW and Schleswig-Holstein.

73 corona deaths were reported to the RKI yesterday, just as many as a week earlier.

In total we are at 523 deceased this week.

In view of the presumably few reports at the weekend, there should be a slight minus in the calendar week comparison.
