The parties to the conflict in Libya arrived at the talks in Moscow

In Moscow started the Russian-Turkish talks on the situation in Libya.

As stated by the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, while the negotiations are in the format “2+2” — the head of the foreign and defense ministries of the two countries. Later they were joined by representatives of Libya, who had already arrived in the Russian foreign Ministry mansion.

Zakharov Also published a photo which shows how the round table sat the delegations of Russia and Turkey. From the Russian side the meeting is attended by Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Deputy foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, the Director of the Department of Middle East and North Africa Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia Alexander Kinsac. The Turkish side are present, in particular, foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and defense Minister of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, said “Interfax”.

In 2011, the Libyan civil war began, which was abandoned, and then killed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Libya ceased to exist as a unified state. In the East of the country is a Parliament elected by the people, and on the West by the centre in Tripoli – the government Fayeza Zarraga, formed with the support of the UN and the European Union. Since December of last year on Tripoli comes Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who supports the Parliament and the Libyan national army.

Earlier Vladimir Putin and Erdogan expressed readiness to contribute to overcoming the crisis in Libya and urged parties to the conflict to cease fire.
