Ukraine agreed to resume the work of its delegation to the PACE

the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the resolution on the return of the Ukrainian delegation to the work of the annual session of the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in 2020.

according to RIA Novosti, voted for the decision 348 people’s deputies with the required minimum of 226 votes. The document says that the Ukrainian delegation’s work is necessary to facilitate the implementation by Kiev of its obligations as a full member of the Council of Europe.

In April 2014 the Russian delegation was deprived of voting rights for the reunification of the Crimea with Russia. In response, Moscow has ceased to pay contributions to the budget of the COE. In June of 2019 PACE fully restored the powers of the Russian delegation. After that, the session gave the delegation of Ukraine.
