Vandals spoiled the griffins on the Bank bridge in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, vandals poured paint sculpture and the pedestal of griffins on the Bank bridge, reports “Interfax”.

As reported in the state Museum of urban sculpture, on the morning of the restorers went to the scene and removed the paint, but sculptures also discovered deep scratches that resolve is not yet possible.

In June 2019 sculptures of griffins with a height of 2.85 m, dismantled in January 2017, the Bank returned to the bridge after restoration. Griffins coated with a special compound which makes it possible to remove the paint without using abrasives.
