Washington Post: Maduro is ready for direct dialogue with US

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is willing to dialogue with the United States. He stated this in an interview with the Washington Post, first as the newspaper said, the Western media since February last year.

“If there is respect between governments, regardless of how great the United States, if there is dialogue, the exchange of accurate information, rest assured we can create a new type of relations,” said Maduro in an interview.

According to him, a relationship based on respect and dialogue, bring a win-win situation. This noticeable change is possible, if Washington opens a direct channel of communication, reports TASS.

In September, Maduro said the TV channel “Russia-24” that is ready for direct talks with Donald trump, but you need to correct the erroneous policy of warfare against Venezuela.

– to end an economic war, would you agree to direct talks with Donald trump, if he offer?

– of Course, Yes. If one day Donald trump decided to rectify the erroneous policy of war against Venezuela, inherited from Barack Obama, we would be ready to start the process of communication to try to create relationships based on respect between the government and the US authorities and the government and the Venezuelan authorities, to remove restrictions in relations.

I really think President trump have failed in disastrous policy, which failed, was defeated in all its forms and manifestations. It’s time to stop and think to cause harm to Venezuela, to recover valuable, respectful relations and cooperation in all spheres. We are always ready, always!
