the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky asked to find a comprehensive solution to the problem of floods in Western regions of the country. The requirement was addressed to the government and was made during a meeting on the topic of emergencies in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Earlier it was reported that there after heavy rains destroyed the 110 kilometers of roads and 90 bridges, disrupted transportation with 34 settlements, three people were killed, one was missing. Also injured Chernivtsi, Lviv and Transcarpathian region, they also declared a state of emergency.
Zelensky voiced sums allocated annually from the budget to eliminate the consequences of floods. According to him, is from 500 to 800 million (a 1.3—2 billion) and in 2020, spending could exceed a billion USD (2.6 billion roubles). “Time to find a system solution, not to lose annually to people and money, ‘” said Zelensky. Among other activities, it is planned to strengthen the banks of the Dniester and Tisza rivers, and for this purpose “to develop a really big program with the assistance of foreign expertise”.
