Zelensky said about the five-year gas contract with Russia

the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said about the five-year gas contract, which was signed by Moscow and Kiev. The document provides for gas transit through the gas transportation system of Ukraine for five years. The country will receive at least seven billion dollars in revenue, said Zelensky. The contract may be extended for another ten years.

In the first year “Gazprom” will pump a minimum of 65 billion cubic meters, reports RIA Novosti. In the next four years the volume of transported gas will reach at least 40 billion cubic meters. Moreover, these numbers can be increased. The loading of the Ukrainian GTS – the key to energy security and the welfare of Ukrainians, said Zelensky.

Earlier it was reported that Russia and Ukraine signed a Protocol on gas cooperation. The head of “Gazprom” Alexei Miller said that gas transit to Europe via Ukraine on January 1, 2020, secured.
