It works device with a color E Ink screen: video

At CES 2020, held in Las Vegas last week, the Chinese company HiSense have revealed the world’s first smartphone with a colour screen on the basis of “electronic ink” E Ink. How this device works, you can see from the video on the YouTube channel KLGadgetTV.

Black-and-white displays with the matrix E Ink mostly set in the e – book reader-electronic paper reduces eye strain and consumes very little power. However, in smartphones this technology is rarely used: you may recall the YotaPhone, which has an auxiliary monochrome panel, or from the A5 model from the same HiSense with b/W screen.

Now at CES 2020 HiSense brought the first smartphone with a fully color display E Ink. And although the colors do seem a bit blurred, technology may find a niche: a color electronic paper is much more economical than LCD screens and protects the eye, because it doesn’t flicker and emits no blue color.

Judging by the performance of the smartphone, color screen, E-Ink is designed to be very cheap devices, focused on long battery life. HiSense displayed a prototype equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 430, one camera, 4 gigabytes of RAM and only 32GB internal. When will be released the business model and how much it will cost, the company said.
