Free online services: a preliminary list of the Ministry of communications

Russia has access to some online services may be free. The preliminary list includes email services and Yandex Mail.ru Group and also social network – “Vkontakte” and “Odnoklassniki”. The list will be supplemented.

RIA Novosti report that the service list was received by the operators of the “big four” on January 20 at a meeting with the acting head of the Ministry of communications Konstantin Noskov.

the Ministry has asked the operator to assess the traffic that users spend on four categories of resources: public information resources, other significant information resources, social networks, e-mail services. They will be available even with zero balance of funds in the account. Operators are likely to get compensation for free access to these services.

the Project “the Internet” was proposed for the development of Vladimir Putin. In his Message to the Federal Assembly the President noted that the project will be to imply free access to all major Russian Internet services to all users throughout the country.
