Until the last day of his earthly existence, the Lord remained faithful to his flock. He was extremely respected and loved by believers. Already during the life of Metropolitan Barnabas was considered a Saint in the monasteries of mount Athos and in Jerusalem. For a long time he served in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, supported the flock during the persecution. Since 1976, he headed the Cheboksary diocese, later Archdiocese. That’s when it appeared here more than two hundred parishes, restored seven monasteries.
