Presidential elections in Croatia: defeated opposition candidate Milanovich

In Croatia held the second round of presidential elections. According to its results the victory was won by the candidate of the opposition Social democratic party, Zoran Milanovic. He scored more than 50 percent of the vote.

His rival — the current leader of the Croatian Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic scored a little more than 47 percent of the vote. She already congratulated Milanovic on the victory and said he expects a civilized transfer of power.

Zoran Milanovic will take the presidency for the next five years. During this period he intends to develop partnerships with the U.S. and Western Europe.
