Kiev demands that the London apologized for extremist Trident

the Embassy of Ukraine in great Britain demanded that the police of the United Kingdom expelled depicted on the Ukrainian coat of arms Trident from the list of extremist symbols and apologized. The Embassy is extremely angered by the inclusion of Trident in the manual on extremism for the British teachers and the medical composition, prepared by the counter terrorism police.

“no explanations accepted. We demand that the Trident was excluded from the benefits with the official apology,” said the Embassy on Twitter.

the Document referenced by the Ukrainian Embassy, was distributed in June 2019. In the section about tattoos it is a picture of a Trident with the caption: “Ukrainian Trident (nationalist)”.

For the comment TASS appealed to the British Council of chiefs of national police (NPCC) and received in response a statement by the senior national coordinator counter-terrorism police Deena Haydon. It said that the manual is designed to assist law enforcement in recognizing and understanding signs and symbols that they may encounter during their daily work.

the manual also “made clear that many groups do not cause interest from the point of view of counter-terrorism” and membership in them does not imply any crime.

“to Suggest anything else is inappropriate and misleading”, the statement stresses Haydon.

it is Worth noting that in the manual, among other things, included the symbols of the Campaign for nuclear disarmament, movements, environmental activists and animal advocates such as Greenpeace and PETA, opponents of GMOs, and many others.
