Crew Dragon splashed down in the Atlantic ocean

Us company SpaceX on Sunday, January 19, checked the reliability of the recovery system of the spacecraft Crew Dragon.

To do this, from the spaceport at Cape Canaveral (Florida) launched a carrier rocket Falcon 9. The test lasted just over 10 minutes.

the recovery System worked in 1 minute 24 seconds after launch. Approximately 20-km altitude capsule spacecraft separated from the carrier, then the ship worked opening system of four parachutes, and then Crew Dragon splashed down in the Atlantic ocean about 35 miles off the coast of Florida. In the capsule instead of the pilots were two of the dummy with the sensors.

the carrier Rocket was destroyed, but it was never intended to keep. Now search and rescue team needs to collect as many fragments of the media, writes TASS.

the Crew Dragon is a modification of the cargo ship Dragon, which already delivers cargo to the ISS. In early March, 2019 Crew Dragon has visited the station. Once NASA certifies ship for manned space flight, astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley will make Crew Dragon flight to the ISS.
