Putin urged not to raise tuition fees in universities

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the situation with the coronavirus in the country is not an excuse for raising prices for training in higher educational institutions. The head of state said during a meeting on the situation in the education system in terms of distribution COVID-19. The broadcast led TV channel “Russia 24”.

Vladimir Putin asked carefully to consider the situation of each student who is experiencing problems with the tuition. The head of state urged to provide effective mechanisms to support people. As an example, the Russian leader drew attention to the conclusion of contracts target training with the enterprises of real sector of economy.

the President agreed with the idea of Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova to send to 41.4 billion roubles to support Federal institutions of education, science and culture. Vladimir Putin noted that the money will go to pay salaries, including University professors. According to the head of the state, such measure will allow to compensate for the decline of budget revenues of such organizations.

Earlier, the Minister of science and higher education Valery Falkov during the meeting said that the reception of documents to universities will begin in July.
