According to Chadaeva, a technology that was perfected in the use of digital passes that can expect the launch of a mobile application that will complement the paper passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation. All of this may become part of the work on the transition from a conventional passport to a smart-card which will contain data about the citizen.
As the Minister noted, at present, no final decision on how the project is implemented. But the introduction of the service would in 9 cases out of 10 use a mobile app instead of a passport.
“How will this work? Exactly by analogy with mobile apps that allow you to pay with phone banking payments, when you have a card in your wallet, but you can pay with your phone”, – explained Chagaev.
According to him, citizens will be able, if necessary, to produce a document in the mode of a QR code.
“You can show the QR code, consider it, you will see your photo, you will see your data and once this data enters an information system, – noted the Minister. – Of course, we believe that the process of data processing with a paper passport of a heavy, time-consuming. When in the DCP operator is forced to scan the passport, to interrupt the data manually, there is a certain number of errors. It is clear that the technology that was now running very quickly with digital badges, has shown that this entire process can be digitized”.
According to the Minister, the presentation of digital ID is more expedient from the point of view of data security.
“If I give the passport, it is clear that it is usually Celecom scan, and then it is stored in full. Here we are talking about the fact that for each case I give the set of information that is needed for the second side,” he said.
So, for the execution of any pass citizen will be able to show only your first name, last name and photo, no details, for example, the place of residence.
“I think it will give a very good incentive to improve the safety of personal data and management of your personal information, when people feel more protected”, – concluded Chagaev.
